New Google Map hacks keep pouring in. This is a revenue generating free wireless hotspot service. The service uses affiliate programmes. Free hotspots just plug in to the services DNS server that keeps track of the users behaviour. If users buy something from lets say Amazon, the provider of the hot spot and the service provider get revenue! They are claiming that the average revenue is 4800/yr. Nice business idea for the free hot spots.

Chris Heathcote has made a nice google maps based service where Geo tagged flickr photos are pinpointed to Helsinki Map.

This was something that I have been talking for quite a long time. Most of his photos are CC licensed. Now think about future when there are millions of photos tagged. Now the Google maps has satellite images but we could go even closer. User created content could be used to create 3d maps of cities like M-Loma project has done.

Today for the first time my letter is above Lehtovaara's pages at Google search. While it was not my goal, the thought crossed my mind when people started linking to it. What changed in past two weeks?

One better make it two (My lawyer did answer to Restaurant) legal letters.

Several press interviews and main stream media coverage.
Dozens of discussion forums talking about the case.
At least 50 Finnish blogs writing about it (not to mention all the international ones).
77 e-mails some were just bcc to me with comments (I am trying to answer all of them, so hang tight).
161 comments and 100 thousand visitors to my blog.
